Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Transitional Resources’ Community,
It is with great gratitude and mixed emotions that the Board of Transitional Resources announces the upcoming retirement of our CEO, Darcell Slovek-Walker, effective June 30, 2026.
Darcell has been working in the behavioral health community for 40 years. Most of that time has been at Transitional Resources (TR), serving as the CEO for the last 22 years (in April). Darcell is most proud of her long-standing commitment to creating innovative programs that integrate permanent supportive housing and intensive community support for individuals who are living with significant behavioral health challenges. With these supports in place, Darcell has witnessed tremendous success and growth of TR’s clients.
We are especially grateful for the heart and soul that Darcell has put into this organization and community. She has ensured a safe space for clients to live with respect and dignity, has cared for the wellbeing of the staff, and has been an advocate for behavioral health support and housing throughout King County.
Transitional Resources’ strength is its model of providing a continuum of care. We excel at our ability to provide the type of care a person needs and to adapt with them through their personal journey. This approach has been central to Darcell’s leadership and we, the Board of Directors, are determined to ensure TR continues to operate under this guiding principle. We have created a dedicated committee to oversee the succession plan to hire a new CEO who will continue the great work at Transitional Resources.
On behalf of the Board, we extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Darcell for her extraordinary leadership, empathy, and lifetime of service. We wish her all the best in her next chapter.
Sincerely,

Ken Bailey
Board President
