Who We Are

For people living with serious mental illness, stability is not always guaranteed. Systems can be difficult to navigate, support can be inconsistent, and too often, people are left without the foundation they need to move forward and rebuild their lives.

Too many people in King County living with serious mental illness are overlooked. They are pushed from crisis to crisis and are expected to navigate systems that were never designed to support them.

Transitional Resources exists to catch those who fall through the cracks and provide a better alternative, and show that recovery is possible for everyone.

We are the safety net.

Our Commitment to Care

We Are Steady When Things Feel Uncertain

We work with people who are often overlooked and marginalized. Our clients are typically people who have been cycling through hospitals, shelters, jails, and the streets. For many of the people we serve, they’ve found themselves in situations that can feel unpredictable, overwhelming, and isolating.

We provide what people need most: consistency. We show up, we follow through, and we remain present, because progress takes time.

We Meet People Where They Are At

There is no single path to recovery.

Every person comes to us with their own story, their own challenges, and their own pace. We don’t expect people to fit into a system–we shape our support around them.

This is long-term, relationship-driven work, and it’s the only kind that creates lasting change.

Dignity Is An Essential Pillar

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Every person deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and valued.

Not based on their circumstances. Not based on their diagnosis. Not based on how easy or difficult their journey has been.

Dignity is not conditional, and we do not compromise on it.

We Are In It For The Long Haul

Being a safety net means we don’t step away when things get difficult. We understand that progress can be slow and setbacks happen. What matters is that people are not facing those moments alone.

We don’t define people by setbacks. It’s consistency and support that makes change possible.

We Do This Work Because It Matters

Everyone deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and valued.

We do this work because we see the difference that consistent care and stable housing can make, not just in small moments, but over time.

Our larger community is stronger when every person has the opportunity to heal, grow, and be accepted.
