We Are In This Together: Transitional Resources’ Response to COVID-19
We at Transitional Resources take the health and well-being of our clients, staff, and community very seriously. From the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been following guidelines and have carried out steps outlined by the CDC, King County Public Health Department, and the Governor’s office. We have taken several preventative measures to keep our community safe, including moving our spring fundraising event online, cancelling on-site volunteer days, encouraging non-essential staff to work from home, and monitoring our staff and clients’ health closely.
Our first priority has been, and continues to be, keeping our clients, staff, neighbors, and greater community as healthy as possible. We are prepared to meet this crisis head on and make sure that our clients continue to receive the personalized care that we proudly provide at TR. We know that the escalation of this crisis has brought uncertainty and hardship for many people, businesses, and organizations. We are considered an essential service by the guidelines put forward by Governor Inslee, and we remain open and grateful we can continue serving our clients and our community during this difficult time.
While each day through this crisis has brought many new challenges, our staff have stepped up in extraordinary ways and continue to be positive and adaptable. I am especially proud of our clinical staff who continue to come in and go above and beyond every single day to provide our clients with hope and encouragement during this time. I could not be prouder to have such an incredible staff, and I am thankful to have so many great people under TR’s banner.
While we’ve needed to make a few adjustments about how services are delivered, we are continuing to:
- Ensure each of our clients remains housed and has a safe place to live.
- Reach out to those receiving our services who may need help.
- Provide behavioral health treatment for all in our programs.
- Assist with getting food and essential supplies to those we serve.
- Distribute medication and provide counseling to those who need it.
- Offer a community of support while still practicing social distancing and limiting group gatherings.
We have seen the incredible impact a supportive community can have firsthand—we are incredibly proud to have cultivated such a strong community not only with our clients but with our friends and supporters who live in West Seattle and beyond. Now more than ever, this community spirit will help us get through this. We are grateful to have so many friends and neighbors who are thinking about us as we work hard to keep everyone at TR safe and healthy. Your consistent support is what enables us to continue our mission. No matter what the future holds, we are in this together.
